Food Pairings

Grenache pairs well with anything from Mexican food to Thanksgiving turkey, and beef or lamb.
Syrah pairs very well with rich and flavorful foods such as lamb, duck, and filet mignon.
Interesting article in the San Jose Mercury on 9-23-09 written by Jessica Yadegaran about Grenache:
"I needed what I like to call a bridge wine, a light-to-medium red wine that eases the transition from summer to fall... My bridge wine this year is grenache."
"While grenache is good to have year-round, it's particularly helpful between summer and fall because it goes quite well with some foods we start to crave: light soups, pasta dishes, and roast chicken."
"Grenache is very much a food wine, medium in body with low tannins and a rustic quality... grenache appeals more to those who enjoy savory wines."
